Materials: The Brass Collection uses solid, unfinished brass for a classic look and feel. It will naturally patina over time giving each tag it’s own unique character. If you prefer to keep the brass bright, please see our care page for some easy ways to keep it looking like new.
Design: Inspired by our first design, the Brass Long Tag, this tag is great for smaller pets, especially those that are more petit. Your pet will look sophisticated in this stylish tag. There are no coatings on this tag to wear off, scuff or scratch so it will always look great. Two solid brass rings give you options to attach the tag in a way that works best for you.
Text: Our tags don’t just scratch the surface! Other tags use etching or engraving for customization, a process that leaves them susceptible to wear and fading. Our durable lettering is cut deep and is guaranteed to remain legible for the life of your pet!

I have never purchased dog tags this expensive before and I’m honestly disappointed. They arrived in a timely manner and they look great, but my dogs have worn these for 3 days and they are already tarnished. We haven’t been anywhere but in the house and my dogs just had baths a week prior, so I’m not sure what could be happening. My doodle’s tag isn’t as tarnished as my golden retrievers, but they both are considerably faded/greenish.

Based on your description, I believe the discoloration you are experiencing is likely normal development of the brass patina. If you would like to send a picture we can confirm if that is the case. It can sometimes look a little strange at first but if you give it a little time if will even out into a beautiful golden brown. If that’s not to your taste, we do provide some simple tips to shine it up again on our product care page. Finally, we totally understand that a custom product ordered online may not turn out exactly like you expected, which is why we offer a 30 day return or exchange policy. Pricey, but beautiful! She’s only worn for a few days so I cannot comment on longevity yet, but the tag looks great! I wish I could add a photo to share what it looks like in relation to her size. But she’s a midsize mixed breed with a one-inch wide collar and the short tag is perfect.

Love the look of this tag – clean with a little bling! We got it for our ten pound cat after moving to the burbs. It took a few tries to introduce her to it. Since she’s small, she’s a little more sensitive to the weight, but has gotten used to a new accessory on her. Only downside to consider is the metal will clink on her bowl or the floor as she lowers her neck, so we hear when she walks around it in the middle of the night. I appreciated that it comes with 2 ring sizes which helps with the length. We’ve had it for 8 months now and it still looks great!
